hello everyone,
Yup it's true! I know you all must be thinking that I'm crazy or that I could never do this but I have actually done it a couple times before and it's not as hard as I thought. But, that was back when I lived at home and now I'm on my own so it might be a struggle.
So why am I choosing to do this right? I've noticed the last couple of months that I have been overspending in areas where it's not really necessary for me to OVER spend in. I was eating out A LOT just because it was convenient for me to just get it an eat instead of coming home from work and having to cook. I noticed that I was also overspending at work, which working retail can happen because you know when things are going to be marked down and you essentially have first dibs. December can be very hard for me because I can never stick to a budget; I always feel like my friends and family need more gifts to open. Which I mean I am constantly buying little things or feel the need to buy multiples in case I want one or I need another one for another occasion. Because of this I have challenged myself to do another no buy.
Since I have done this before I know it will help me realize that I essentially don't need the items I am spending on. It will snap me back to reality along with help me save.
I have seen a lot of pinterest post and youtube videos about saving money and how you should go about it, but for this I have my own rules to follow.
Steps:
Cut out unnecessary spend
Spend ONLY on necessities
Limit eating out on Weekends
No Shopping!
Rough, right?!
Just imagine the savings!
Do you have any tips for saving money? What do you guys overspend on? Would you like to hear weekly or biweekly updates?
Let me know in the comments!
Until Next Time:
Noshka XOXO
Lol! This is such a good idea, but does it really work? You must be really disciplined to have done it before. Your family and friends are lucky to have someone who is willing to give gifts like that. How do you do a no buy during valentine's month though?
ReplyDeleteIt works if you have a goal in mind, well at least for me. I like to shop but there could be times when i dont buy anything. Its all about control. As for how i dont buy anything during valentine's, i dont think you have to buy something to show someone you care. Its all about the little things you do each day or something handmade. Those are the important things.
DeleteTrue that! Goodluck the rest of the way. You're already halfway there!
