Blogmas Day 1: Favorite Christmas Movies

Blogmas Day 1

Hey guys, today I want to share with you my favorite Christmas movies and why. There are so many great movies out there but I will try to just stick to my top 5 favorites, which for me might be hard.

#5. The Grinch

The cartoon might be the original but I prefer the people version the most. I also happen to like Jim Carrey and I feel he fits the character perfectly with his mannerisms. This movie shows us that even though things don't always happen to go our way, in the end we realize that they mean so much more. Although it's not a movie I watch all the time, I do like this movie and feel like it gets rid of all the bah humbugs out there.

# 4. The Polar Express

As we grow up we tend to lose the meaning of Christmas, or like in the movie, we aren't able to hear the bells. This movie takes us on a journey of reminding us that you don't have to see something to believe in it. Fun fact, I actually didn't like this movie at first, but as I started to get older it resonated with me in a way that I still want to hear the bells of Christmas. But also, who doesn't love the Josh Groban song at the end?

#3 Jingle All the Way

This movie seems to be one of the most forgotten Christmas movies. Every time I ask someone if they have seen this movie they always end up saying "What?" There's so much going on in this movie that makes it great, and so many of my Christmas memories come from me and my siblings watching this movie together. We quote it all the time just because it's that great. If you haven't seen this movie you really should, it's about a dad who forgets to get his son the only present he wants and lets just say we have all been in that position.

# 2 ELF

I'm pretty sure everyone has seen ELF ( I hope) but this movie has become a classic rather quickly. If this movies doesn't get you in the Christmas spirit I honestly don't know what will. This movie is funny, heart warming, and all about finding the true meaning of Christmas. Plus, it's so quote friendly, especially during this time of year.

#1 Home Alone

Surprise Surprise.. Home Alone is my favorite Christmas Movie of all TIME! I could watch this movie even when its not Christmas and there are still parts that will make me laugh like a crazy person. I'm not sure what it is about this movie that makes it so relatable, maybe it's that I always freak out when I'm home alone thinking they are going to attack me and I wish I was like Kevin and had a plan of attack set up. Any time I see this movie playing on TV I know it means we are getting close to Christmas and that it will be acceptable for me to watch it a million and one times.

Did your top Christmas movie make my list? If not leave it in the comments below! Can't wait to hear which ones are your favorites!

Until Tomorrow,

  1. Hey Ninoshka, great post! I love all these movies but I also love the classic White Christmas. I’m pretty much a sucker for musicals. :) I also love the Santa Claus with Tim Allen. He just makes me laugh, love the sarcasm in it. I can relate to that.

  2. Same, I love musicals in general. I love the Santa Claus movies but I've never seen White Christmas or Miracle on 34th Street which I should probably watch.
