Feliz Dia De Los Reyes!

Today I wanted to share with you guys a tradition that we share in Puerto Rico and that is the Day of the Three Wise Men.
I thought this was something that a lot of Hispanic cultures celebrated but apparently I was wrong. For that reason I decided to share with you guys a little bit of my culture and kind of what the day entails. For us here in the states of course we celebrate Christmas with Santa Claus and as per usual Santa goes to Puerto Rico but for us he only brings a few gifts; the Three Wise Men are the ones we wait for, they come on the night of the 5. Just like Santa likes his milk and cookies the kids have a box that they fill with tall grass and leave it for the camels to eat as they have a long journey. They wake up on the 6th to find presents and scattered grass where they left the boxes.
Because my family celebrates both holidays, the Three Wise Men only leave us three presents one from each king just like they brought to Jesus. This to us signifies the end of the Holiday Season, which for me is sad because it is my favorite time of year.
I know most people don't celebrate this holiday or even know about it but I hope this was at least somewhat educational.
Do you celebrate Three Kings?
If so, how do you celebrate it?
Until Next Time,
XX Noshka
