Transitioning into Fall Lips

Hello Everyone!

Fall is quickly approaching in many part of the country which means we will see a rise in darker lips. I was never a big fan of dark lips because I never thought I could pull them off. I found out that if I slowly transitioned then I could feel more comfortable wearing darker lips. These lip colors can be used year around and are not only subject to one season or another its about what makes you feel comfortable. I have gathered some of the lip colors I gravitate towards and have used to help me feel more comfortable with darker lips. I have broken them up into three categories nudes, reds, and berry colors.  I have also added 3 lip liners one for each category.

(Left to Right: NYX Natural,NYX Hot Red, NYX Plum,L'Oreal JLOs Nude,NYX Flutter Kiss,Wet N Wild Rico Mauve,NYX Tea Rose, Maybelline Who Wore It Red-er,Rimmel Play with Fire, Rimmel 111 Kiss Of Life,Wet N Wild Cherry Bomb,NYX Aphrodisiac, Maybelline Berry Ready)

As you can see these are the more nude colors I choose to start with. I try to go for more pinky nudes especially since these are the colors I feel are easier to get use too. Some of these are also a little bit more on the brown side but its all about finding the colors that really fit to your skin tone and that make you feel confident. With these colors I can get the desired look I want especially if I'm going for more of a dramatic eye. These are some of my favorite colors and ones I tend to gravitate the most no matter the season.

For my skin town more blue tone reds fit better. Red can be a very scary color to wear at least for me it is. Its all about the one that works best with your skin tone. You might but it on one minute and then take it off the next believe me everyone one has done that every now and then. Since reds are hard to wear/ find the perfect one I would consider finding a more pink red and working your way up to a true red, and it doesn't have to be a hot rod red either it can be as red as your comfortable with.

Berry and darker tones can also be very intimidating.
The trick with these is also to build up to that darker color.
Start out by making sure your lips are moisturized because darker lips tend to emphasize the line or creases in your lips. When I wasn't sure about darker lips I would start by just wearing a lip liner and filling in my lips. Although the color wasn't that dark it would allow me to get more comfortable with it. I have continued to line my lips even know when I do wear the lipstick because it prevents the color from feathers outside the lines of my mouth. I recommend doing a simpler make up look so the lips can be the focus.

Be as daring as you want with lip products, its all about comfort and if you don't like it you can always take it off and try some other time. Have fun with make up that's what its for.
